Loving Hands

Loving Hands is a Glendale Quilt Guild committee that makes and donates quilts and other items to worthy causes. We provide hundreds of quilts each year to various organizations. 

Recipients have included:
Veterans Assistance (VA) Long Beach, VA West Los Angeles, VA North Hills, LAC USC Medical Center, Pasadena Humane Society, Seven Stars Foundation, Daughters of Lithuania, ConKerr Cancer, Glendale Adventist Hospital, American Legion Posts 288 and 1614, Optimists Youth Home, Disney Cancer Center, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Salvation Army, Shriners Hospital for Children, USSD Alzheimers Disease Cooperative Study, Micro Clinic 2020 Initiative, Ascencia Homeless Shelter, Angel Step Inn Domestic Violence Shelter, and Glendale YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter.


2020 ~ 742 donations including quilts, flannel blankets, pillow cases, Veterans’ Post-Op heart pillows, and pet shelter beds. Also, 2141 face masks and 317 surgical caps.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
  • Currently all participation is via Zoom.  See the newsletter for where and when you can drop off items for donation.
  • Quilt a top
  • Bind a Quilt
  • Complete your own quilt

SIZES OF QUILTS THAT WE NEED
  • 35” x 40”
  • 40” x 50”
  • Twin size or larger
WHAT WE CAN USE
  • 100% cotton fabric
  • Low loft polyester or cotton batting
  • Blocks, tops, UFO’s

WHAT WE CANNOT USE
  • Fleece, knit, or dusty, soiled or smelly fabric
  • Really fluffy batting
