Glendale Quilt Guild

The Glendale Quilt Guild sponsors a minimum of two philanthropic projects per year.

The projects involve quilts or specifically quilt-related materials such as books or quilting supplies and whenever possible, the projects are carried out by a donation of the item(s) selected rather than cash.  Any philanthropic project proposed for the Guild, whether by a Committee or some other source, is voted upon by the membership at a regular meeting and notice is given for this vote in the Newsletter.

The Guild has provided support
in the past two years to Southern California Guild members who were affected by the California wildfires during the fall of 2003.  The support was in the form of quilts or quilt related items, such as fabric, and these were given to various guilds in the San Diego area.

In addition, the following organizations have received financial support:
• San Diego Quilt Visions
• San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles
• The Pasadena History Museum’s Textile Council
• University of Nebraska International Quilt Study Center
