2012 Opportunity Quilt

Welcome to the fabulous Glendale Guilt Guild. This year our quilt show focuses on recycling with Glendale Goes Green. We want participants to reuse, recut, and re-stitch fabric from previous projects into something new and exciting. Seventy percent of the materials used in the ‘tops’ of quilts entered into the “Show Theme Quilt” category need to be recycled. We are very excited to see what our very creative quilters can do with this recycling requirement.
Our Opportunity Quilt is one example of the many fabulous quilts we are expecting. It was designed and quilted by noted quilter/fiber artist Pat Rollie. Pat used donated fabric, clothing (including one of my old bridesmaid dresses) and scraps from our Guild Members to produce an art quilt that is a true masterpiece. It was exciting and fun for our members to study the finished quilt, trying to find the bits and pieces each of us had donated to the project.

Glendale Goes Green! continued...
Our Guild is recognized nationally for consistently producing one of the most polished and professional guild shows. We have marvelous quilts from across the Country, great vendors, terrific teachers and classes.
The Glendale Goes Green show, chaired by Raza Read, is just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day in March. Come and join the fun. Spend a night or the weekend at the beautiful Burbank Marriott Hotel directly next to the Marriott Convention Center where our show is held. The Marriott is located near freeways and the Burbank Airport. They offer us terrific rooms at a reasonable price. Their “Daily Grill” Restaurant has marvelous food. If you’re in a rush, there is also a food court across the street from the hotel offering many of your favorite fast food eateries.
The show runs from March 16th through March 18th, 2012. Bring the family; enjoy the show; Disneyland is just a short trip down the freeway.
