Sharon Schamber
Sharon Schamber's Aunt Joe taught her to sew when she was six years old. She
learned about design and manufacture of Bridal and Pageant wear and started
her own company when she was 19 years old. Her first competition quilt was
made entirely by hand and won the Jinny Beyer Borders on Brilliance contest
in Houston in 1999. Sharon feels that she is first of all a teacher and then
an artist and quilts are the medium that she has chosen. AQS has published
two books on her techniques, Piece-liqué, Curves the New Way and Piece
by Piece Machine Appliqué. Sharon loves to teach as it encourages her
to grow and to create new ideas. She is delighted to share her ideas and techniques
with her students.

Deb Karasik
Deb Karasik dabbled in quilting when her children were born BRC (Before Rotary
Cutters). But then she put down her scissors and cardboard templates
and took up the task of raising her children and launching a career in
the interior design industry. Her youngest daughter's announcement in
2000 that she was pregnant with triplets was all the incentive Deb needed to
try quilting once again. She ventured off to her local quilt shop and was introduced
to the rotary cutter.
With the discovery of this amazing tool, and all
the luscious fabrics that were available for quilters, her new passion was
born. In these few short years of working in and honing this art form, Deb
has designed and made numerous original quilts. Despite the fact (or perhaps
because) she had no official art training or background, she had no preconceived
boundaries as to design or color choices. When you view her quilts, this freedom
of design and joyful use of color is instantly apparent. In 2001 she met
Janet Mednick at the San Francisco Quilter's Guild, and they became not only
fast friends but also collaborators on many quilt projects.

Barbara Willis
Cloth dolls are my passion and are an outflow of a lifetime of love for color
and texture and form. Each doll as it is being created is part of me -part
of a journey we take together.
I have been creating these treasures for many years now and have enjoyed the
pleasure of teaching in many of our United States as well as internationally.
I am on a life long quest to gather supplies and store and enjoy the use of.
To lavish the dolls with whatever they seem to be asking for. To shop till I
drop and spare no expense as each one calls for something of their own.

expression since her mid teens using oils, brush and pen lettering, and in
